Come to think of it…

Come to think of it…

We’ve actually found a lot of new bands off of Grey’s Anatomy. We have the 2005 CD which includes songs from Psapp, The Radio, Postal Service, Tegan and Sara (of course!) and Maria Taylor — all of whom we’ve gone on to buy separately.

So the compilation is worth a listen, if you’re looking for new music.

One of the cool things about Tegan and Sara is that, remembering what it was like on their way up (they’ve been on the tour circuit for coming on 12 years), they like to highlight new bands (most artists do this) and have them open for them.

The two bands at Copley were Steel Train and Holly Miranda. They were both amazing (we bought their CDs).

Tegan and Sara

Ceara and I were at the Tegan and Sara concert in Copley Hall, San Diego last Wednesday (I missed a class and we were really tired the next day).

It was a great concert but the fans were distressing. They were shouting and interrupting when Tegan and/or Sara were bantering with their usual charm. I think people sometimes get too carried away in their own world — being in one’s own world is a great thing but when lots of other people are also around, I think it’s smart to take notice and make allowances rather than demanding sole (soul) attention.

It also seems that big stars and musicians attract the sort of attention that gets hard to handle. I’m glad that Pern fans, on the whole, don’t behave like that (and it does make me wonder what’ll happen when Pern gets a big, flashy movie).

Those of you who don’t know Tegan and Sara should give them a listen — you’ve probably already heard them if you followed the early “Gray’s Anatomy” as their song “Where Does the Good Go?” was played on it. (And I’d like to acknowledge the brilliance of whoever was picking music for “Gray’s Anatomy” — some really good stuff!)

You can check them out at Tegan and Sara.
