Letter from Gail

Letter from Gail

Todd,
I was wondering since you & your mom have both writen books about Pern if you had ever thought of doing a book signing tour for any of the books.
If you do please do those of us that live West of the Mississippi River a favor & make your way through to the west coast. I know for a fact that here in Idaho the book stores I’ve been to have a hard time keeping the Dragonrider’s series stocked & on the shelfs.

Gail,

If Del Rey ever suggested I do a book signing tour, I’d be happy to do so. However Mum is 78 and I know she’s just not up to such things. The old joke about “If this is Tuesday, I must be in Schenectady” is very true on such tours and they’re incredibly draining. After the last signing tour Mum was on, she took six months to recuperate — and she wasn’t writing at all during that time.

Mum will be out in Atlanta, GA for this year’s Dragon*con (she surprised me when she said that she wanted to go back) and she’ll be out in LA for the Writers of the Future Awards ceremony but that’s all, I’m sorry.

If I’m ever asked to do a book signing tour, I’ll be sure to announce it in my “Upcoming Events” section.

Cheers,
Todd
