Letter from Stash

Letter from Stash

I took my little sister to see the recent Harry Potter movie, and it really scared her…but at the same time she said it was the best one yet and that she loved it. *shrugs*

Child logic baffles me.

It’s pretty cool though, how they fly around on the broom sticks, and the griffen thing. Flying just holds so many freedoms, and so many possibilities.

PS- Even though my progress is slow, I’ve finally hit 50,000 on my story, and have a ton of background on it too. I’m also getting ready to write a few other stories set in the same universe. thnx again for your advice, it’s really helped.

Stash,

Glad to hear you’re making such great progress! Keep it up. Your background really helps you. A book’s sort of like a spotlight — it works because it lights up part of a world while hinting at the shadows of the rest of the world. World’s without shadow aren’t believable.

I imagine your sister is pretty young. If she’s less than nine or ten, she’s still in a magical phase of cogitation — she’ll tend to take things as much more real than they are. “Saying it makes it so” is often a catchphrase in that age, so I could see how Harry Potter would scare her.

Cheers,
Todd
