Hello,
I’ve been a fan of your mother’s for years now, and I’m thrilled to see that you’re continuing the tradition in Pern. I was hoping that the series wouldn’t die – it’s simply too wonderful to not pass on.
I’ve just finished reading Dragonsblood and I must say you do your mother proud! I was very impressed. You have your own writing style, but you’ve managed to keep the spirit of the planet alive.
A very well written book.
I do have one question though. Nuella’s watch-wher, Nuelsk, in Dragon’s Kin is green, but in Dragonsblood, she’s now gold. Which is she supposed to be?
I realize it’s one of those error’s which is easily overlooked, but I’m now curious, because if Nuella’s got a queen wher, she could breed her and so on. Makes for some interesting sequel propositions with that character.
I also understand you’re intending to write a couple of sequels to Draong’s Kin. At the end of Dragonsblood, there are some hints as to Kindan’s past before he reaches the Weyr. Are the sequels going to explain these in more detail? Kindan was a wonderful character, and I’m glad to see he’s been an important part of both books you’ve written thus far. A very vibrant character and well suited to the planet.
As always, I look forward to more eagerly.
Sincerely,
Anne
Hi Anne,
I’m glad that you liked Dragonsblood. And I like your questions!
Here are you answers:
1. No, it’s not an error. In Dragon’s Kin Nuelsk was green. In Dragonsblood, Nuellask is gold. There’s a whole story explaining this still to be written.
2. Yes, Mum and I have already signed a contract to write sequels to Dragon’s Kin, one of which will follow Kindan as he goes to the Harper Hall.
Cheers,
Todd
