Eeek!

Eeek!

My gosh, I just realized that my last posting here was a month ago in May.

A lot has happened and is still happening;

Mum and I are pushing to get Dragon’s Fire finished; Mum’s back in Ireland; her mare has foaled a colt; school’s almost out; and I’ve started looking at the notes I have from the end of Dragonsblood (hint, hint). As near as I can tell, there were less than one thousand fighting dragons left on Pern by the end of Dragonsblood. F’lar, in Dragonflight, noted that there used to be three thousand fighting dragons in the full Weyrs — just something to ponder upon.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be out all too soon (and not soon enough).

Hi, just wondering: are you ever going to write a book where a blue rider is the hero? In Dragonflight, Lessa and F’lar the heroes and they are bronze and queen. In Dragonquest, F’nor is the hero and he is brown. In The White Dragon, Jaxom is the hero and he is white. Finally, in the Skies of Pern, there is F’lessan and Tai and they are bronze and green. But NO blues! Can you and your Mum remedy this?

Devin,

I hear you and I’ll think about it. But don’t forget C’gan who was very much a hero in my eyes, nor J’trel who was equally awesome.

Also, remember the old Chinese curse, “May you get what you ask for,” and don’t be surprised when you do find a hero who rides a blue!

Cheers,
Todd

I check each and every day,and almost each and every day, there are no new letters to read….which makes me sad-but hopeful that you don’t have time to accept all the accolades because you are working on more books. TRUE?

With much love and impatience and hope.
I am your fan.

Barbara,

Yes, you’re right, we’re working on more books. Still, I am touched that you check every day and will bear that in mind! It’s really nice to be appreciated.

Thank you! I have loved your Mom’s Dragonriders of Pern books since I found them (almost as long ago as she wrote them), and was so excited to find Dragon’s Kin, which I enjoyed just as much. You write well! I hope you will continue adding to the mythology of Pern so that I may continue enjoying!

Sue, thank you! Mum and I are working on Dragon’s Fire right now and will have it done soon.
