Question from Aaron

Question from Aaron

I was wondering if you would be making your books available in audio form, such as with audible or itunes. And thanks for carrying on the tradition!

Hi Aaron!

The choice of making books available through Audible or iTunes is a mutual one — the writer and the publisher (iTunes or Audidble). No one from either has asked.

However, you will find many of our books available as Audio tapes or CDs, through Brilliance Audio.

Cheers,
Todd

Hello! I was wondering how your mother got the idea of pern. And how she made the characters and if and who they resemble.

Hi Kristi,

Those are great questions and they’ve been answered in Dragonholder. Hopefully your library can locate a copy for you as the book only came out in hardcover and is out of print. The simplest answer is that Mum decided that dragons had had bad press and decided to do something about it, so she invented a world where dragons were necessary and good.

There’s also another book, “The People of Pern” by Robin Wood and Anne McCaffrey, that includes paintings of many of the people depicted in Dragonflight, Dragonquest, and The White Dragon but that book has been out of print for quite a while now, sadly.

Cheers,
Todd

Hello,

I really like the books about pern. So my teacher, Ms. Walloch, encouraged me to do a report on it, but it had to be specific, so I chose “Pern.” I would really like to know more about Pern and all the people that live or lived on it. Nobody at my school knows the series and would like to know more. My brother Vincent is also a big fan. So, if you could, please send me more information about pern.

Hi Kristi!

I’m sorry to be so late in getting back to you.

I’m glad you like Pern!

The best place to learn more about Pern is my mother’s website . If you want to know the chronological order in which to read the books, check out here on her website.

If you want to read even more about Pern, then The Dragonlover’s Guide to Pern is great reference and your school library should either have it or be able to get it for you.

I hope that helps!

Also, please let me suggest to you that it’s a very bad idea to ever disclose your age, or address, or phone number. As you can, I’ve edited them out of your original message.

Cheers,
Todd
