Lilith Saintcrow

Lilith Saintcrow

I was lucky again to spend time at Orycon with Lilith Saintcrow. She’s written a series of really fun books about Dante Valentine, starting with Working for the Devil and I’ve just pre-ordered Book 5 which is due this January.

The Dante Valentine series is NOT YA. If you’ve gone off Laurel Hamilton’s “Anita Blake” series, or if you’re looking for something to read after you loved Rosemary Edghill’s “Bell, Book, and Murder: The Bast Series”, then this is for you.

I got turned on to them because Mum loves them and we got to meet Lili at the Science Fiction Museum when Mum was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame.

What to read after Harry Potter

What to read after Harry Potter

If you’re looking for something to read after Harry Potter, I strongly recommend The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. Of course, once you read it, you’ll be hooked and want to read the rest of the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series and, probably like me, you’ll even pre-order the foruth book which isn’t due out until May 2008 (darn!).

Rick Riordan (pronounced “Ryer-dan” because he’s from Texas) was a Middle School teacher so he knows kids very well (he has two boys and, as far as I can tell, is home-schooling them). Rick’s web site is here.
