Question from Valerie

Question from Valerie

Hi Todd,

Do you know when Dragon Harper will be produced in paperback? This is the format my entire Pern Collection is in, and I wish to add this one when it’s available as well. I love the Pern novels.

Thank you.

Valerie

Hi Valerie,

No, I don’t know when Dragon Harper will be out in paperback. Usually there’s a year or more between hardback and paperback. I have noticed that the publisher tends to release the paperback version of the last book shortly before publishing the hardback version of the next book but I don’t think this is a hard and fast rule.

Cheers,
Todd

Just finished reading your book, “Dragon’s Fire”. It was riveting. I could not put it down until I finished reading it. I kept thinking it was your mother writing it but it wasn’t. You are just at good at writing stories as she. I love reading the Pern adventures and hope you keep on writing them.

Thanks, Drucilla!

I’m working on Dragonheart now — Dragon Harper is out in hardback (I don’t know quite when it’ll be out in paperback).

Cheers,
Todd

Dear Todd,
I want you to know that I am thrilled to LIFE that you decided to take up your mothers efforts in edjucating us about life on P.E.R.N. (parallels earth resources nominal) I have been a huge fan for many, many years! And will look forward to all upcoming books. I was giddy when I found out there may be a movie! Can you enlighten me on any known (or unknown) facts about it?

Thank you both for enriching my life!

Sincerely, Mark

Dear Mark,

Thanks for writing! I’m glad that you’re enjoying what I’m doing on Pern. I’m having a lot of fun and hopefully it shows.

As for the movie — as soon as we have anything to announce, I suspect we’ll be shouting it from the rooftops. For now we keep our fingers crossed and our hearts open in anticipation.

Cheers,
Todd

Hello Todd,

I have finally gotten to read your book “Dragon’s Fire,” and I really enjoyed it. Having said that (here it comes, brace yourself), I was wondering about a mention on page 49 that the Camp Natalon’s hunter, Ima, was a female and then later being shown to be a male, page 56. I am sorry to be so nitpicky. Must be because I am a medical transcriptionist. 🙂 Can you clarify for me please, did Pellar think the camp hunter was female because Halla was also following the trapline? That is the only way I could get it to make sense. But then, the shoes would be different, wouldn’t they? Oh well. I can’t wait to have the time to sit down and read your next book (or your mother’s).

Later,

Anna B.

Hi Anna,

Nope, you’re right — it’s a typo! Ima is a woman and it should say “her” on page 56. I’ve made a note and hopefully we’ll get it fixed in a future printing.

Cheers,
Todd
