Dear Todd

I started reading your mother’s books many years ago. Yes, I am a grandmother and great grandmother. I loved all of them and they are my prized possessions. I can’t bear to part with any of them. While I liked all of them, the Pern series were my favorite and was so sorry when she quit them.

I have now found my favorite stories in your books and have every one. Please don’t ever quit them.

I just finished Dragonheart and can’t wait for the next one, can’t wait to see what happens to Fiona. Please what is the name of your new one going to be and when will it be out. So I can watch for it.

Your devoted Fan

Jo

Dear Jo,

Fiona was constantly surprising me in Dragonheart and she hasn’t stopped in Dragongirl which is now with the publishers.

Thank you for your kind words!

Cheers,
Todd

Dear Todd,

I love all your books as well as the ones your mother wrote. My mom used to tell me about Pern when I was still struggling to write my name. I didn’t read one until I reached the seventh grade. Since, I’ve been hooked. Your mom is really the reason I started writing.

I’m kind of sorry I don’t have any questions for you, but I either accept things as they’re written or make up my own ideas to fill in the gaps.

I can’t wait for your next book to hit the shelves. Thank you for taking your time to read.

Sincerely,
Vicki

Dear Vicki,

Thank you! I hope you’re writing in your own worlds now and that some day we’ll be able to see you in print, too! (One can never have enough good books!)

Cheers,
Todd

Have just finished dragonheart – read it in one sitting as I literally could not put it down.

Now, I realize that my first question is partly answered in dragonsblood [do they find a cure for the plague?], the unanswered part is – in Fort, who survives?

Of the other issues you raise, one is concerning Xhinna. There is more to her than is in the book.

And who said, ‘It will be all right’?

Was it Fiona, coming back from the future, not merely the ten years, but the adult Fiona, who spoke to Mikal, who brought Fiona back ten years?

What happened afterward?

You find some of your questions answered in Dragongirl which is now with the publishers.

You are quite right that there is more to Xhinna than we’ve seen so far. She reappears in Dragongirl.

As for some of your other questions, they won’t be anwered for another book or so. The story of the beginning the Third Pass is a big story and it takes more than one book to properly tell the tale.

Cheers,
Todd

Hi Todd,

I am so glad that you are continuing Anne’s PERN saga. I have loved PERN since the early 80’s. In fact, I am only missing 6 titles of Anne’s, yours, and one in legends II. I have nearly read the print off the pages of the 21 books I have (including Atlas and People of PERN).

Please keep the titles coming so that I may continue to take new journeys to the planet where I imagine that I am Menolly (my favorite), Lessa, Moreta, or any of the other heroines of the tales.

God Bless.

Hi Marilyn,

Thank you! I quite understand reading the print off the pages!

Cheers,
Todd
