Letter from Judy

Todd,

Okay…while I have been bummed that the new Dragonriders of Pern have not completely been in your Mum’s hand, I must say…with Dragonheart you have redeemed yourself quite well. As a matter of fact, I am thrilled that “Dragongirl” is at the publisher…I am just anxious to read the next installment!

Anything we as your fans can do to push the publisher along – by all means let us know! I don’t think that I have been this excited since “The Skies of Pern.”

Your Mum was right to turn this over to you…you are definitely getting the flair/flavor of the thing…keep writing…I will be following and buying for years to come!

Congratulations!

Regards, Judy

Judy,

Thank you! Dragonheart was an amazing book to write and I’m glad it read that way for you, too.

I should remind you, just for accuracy’s sake, that Mum hasn’t turned over Pern to me alone. She has said that she’d be happy for my sister, Georgeanne Kennedy to write on Pern (or elsewhere in her universes) and recently, to my susprise, has told my daughter Ceara that if she wanted to write on Pern, she’d let her too.

Cheers,
Todd

I’m on chapter 11 of Dragonheart, had forgotten how great your books are!!
Once one starts ,you can’t possibly put it down.

And when you do, due to being 1 a.m. in the morning of a workday, you can’t wait til the day ends so one could grab the book again and continue.

You are an amazing writer, Todd.
like Mother, like son…..
…like daughter :0)

Any news about whether you mother is going to write another Acorna book??

Hi Shannon!

I’ll bet you’ve finished Dragonheart by now. Dragongirl is with the publishers.

We’re all proud of Ceara’s accomplishment — first the Regional Gold Key and now the National Silver Award!

Cheers,
Todd

Todd,

I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your mother & you. My husband got me reading the Pern series when we got married 13 years ago. I immediately got addicted. I am always checking to see when a new book is going to come out by your mother or you. I haven’t found one book I don’t like by you both.

When my husband & I got married he brought a signed special edition “Moreta” with him. I have told him if we ever got divorced it is mine! He said we can never get divorced then. LOL.

I can appreciate what the other person said. I go through withdrawls when I get done with a book. I want to go to Ireland just so I can meet your mother. Thank you & her for all the great books.

Debi,

Thank you! I’m glad that Pern is such a special place for you and your husband — and doubly glad if it keeps you two together!

Cheers,
Todd

Note from Heather

Thank you for continuing this wonderful series! It brightens my days every time I pick one up and read it. The only problem is they are so hard to put down and get other things done. 😉 I love the recipe ideas I got from Dragonheart. Accidentally got a galley copy of the book, but loved it cover to cover.

Hi Heather,

Yeah, I got hungry just thinking about those recipes! I don’t think I’ve actually put my hand to making them but I am tempted.

Dragongirl is now with the publishers so sometime in the next year or so, you can have another trip to Pern!

Cheers,
Todd
