Booksigning at Barnes&Noble Huntington Beach

Booksigning at Barnes&Noble Huntington Beach

My booksigning last night went very well and I’d like to thank everyone who came and the staff at the Barnes&Noble. We had a lot of fun.

Afterwards I had a long chat with a nice lady who is an 8th grade English teacher.

I mentioned Scholastic’s marvelous Alliance for Young Artists and Writers which is a totally brilliant idea and includes such alumni as Robert Redford, Richard Avedon, Truman Capote, Joyce Carol Oates, and Ceara McCaffrey.

If anyone has a budding artist or writer in 7-12th grade, they should encourage them to enter for the awards (there are many different categories in both art and writing).

StellarCon 35

StellarCon 35

I have been invited to be Literary Guest of Honor for Stellar Con 35 in High Point, North Carolina, March 4-6, 2011.

I think this will be my first time ever in North Carolina.

I’m looking forward to it!

Castles, Battles & Bombs: How Economics Explains Military History

Castles, Battles & Bombs: How Economics Explains Military History

This is currently top of my reading list. I’m quite curious to see what the authors do with it. It seems, to me at least, to be a good addition to “The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers” by Paul Kennedy as well as most of the Jared Diamond books.
