Letter from Bill

Please accept my apologies for not sending Condolences regarding your mother’s death. Are belated ones acceptable?

I’m pleased that you are continuing with the Pern books. So much more logical than many sci-fi/fantasy series that have to develop daft themes to continue.

Incidentally: was there a reply to the ‘Tubberman Launch?’ or are FSP otherwise engaged or unable to understand his message? Could be a sequel/series in there.

Bill,

Thank you for your condolences. Belated ones are always acceptable.

Thanks for your thoughts regarding the ‘Tubberman Launch’. Did you read Rescue Run? I think that dealt with that.

Cheers,
Todd

Todd,
Thank you for your response. I served in the “Big Red One” for almost 4 years before I PCS’d to a different unit and went to spend the next 18mnts in Iraq. Sometimes this is a small world.
Please keep me posted/informed if/when those books in question become available because I have every intention of reading them all to my son and sharing the worlds that she wrote about with his eager young mind. He loves everything to do with animals no matter what kind they are and if he is anything like me he will want to read all the books as well.
I may have missed my opportunity to meet your beloved mother but I hope to take my son and shake your hand for the amazing work that you have carried on.

Respectfully,
Calvin

Calvin,

Small world, indeed!

I can’t say quite when all the books will be available in eBook format because the Estate’s still getting settled and there is a lot of paperwork to deal with (which, thankfully, I’m not having to do!). soon, I hope!

I’d look forward to shaking your hand — and your sons!

Cheers,
Todd

Question from Brandon

Question from Brandon

I was woundering if you sign bookplates? Several years ago I sent for one done by your mother and I would love to display yours with hers. If you do could you send me the info so I may send for one, I didnt see it on your site. Thank you.

Brandon

Brandon,

I don’t know, I’m still thinking about it.

I know it was a huge project for Mum — and an expense, particularly as she was mailing stuff from Ireland.

I usually prefer to sign at conventions and bookstores.

Dear Todd McCaffrey,

I was sad to read about the passing of your mother. I came late to sci-fiction and I believe the first book I read of your mothers was White Dragon. I was hook. Every time I find a Anne McCaffrey book in a used book store I purchase it. I eagerly await the next book Sky Dragons.

Sincerely yours,
Starr

Dear Starr,

Thank you for your kind words.

I’m always amazed when people pick up Mum’s books in the middle of the series.

I hope you enjoy Sky Dragons.

Cheers,
Todd
