New York, New York!

We — my daughter, Ceara, her mother, and I — were in New York last week for the very joyous occasion of seeing Ceara get her National Silver Award from the Scholastic Writers and Artists Alliance at Carnegie Hall on the 4th of June.

The speakers were all excellent and the keynote speaker, Tony Kushner — a last-minute switch — gave an brilliant speech.

I encourage everyone who knows any talent writer or artist in grades 7-12 to seriously consider entering this competition.
