  1. will you be posting when that is coming out? I was just at your Mom’s site but didn’t see anything new, I am hoping she is doing ok.

  2. Sherry, it’s all pretty tentative at the moment. I don’t know if there’s been a date set.

  3. Thank you, I can’t wait for more books (really looking forward to Dragongirl).

New to this site, I have been reading the Pern books since the beginning and feel that I have lived on Pern at times. I will be at Powerscourt Estate in October and was hopeing that there might be a chance to see you mum, I know what going through Hip replacement is like, my wife had a new left hip 8 years ago. I have enjoyed the Pern books which you have written. I have already put in an order for DragonGirl.

  5. The working title makes me think of “War is over (Happy Xmas)” by John Lennon.

  6. Leejb1 — Mum’s still recovering from her hip operation and isn’t really up for visitors at the moment. I do hope you enjoy Powerscourt, it’s beautiful.

  7. I noticed the last update for this was in 2010. I was wondering if there is any progress on this sequel. I have just reread the series and would like to know what happens to F’lessan, Tai, Lessa, F’lar, Toric, Fourth, etc.

  8. Barbara, Mum’s been dealing with health issues related to old age (85) and just finding the energy to finish After The Fall Is Over is quite a challenge.

  9. I have read and reread all the books in the Dragons of Pern series and would love the chance to read more in the future. My question is this. Will you be finishing this book in remembrance to your mother? I know her fans would love to have the last book she was writing before leaving us. I am hoping greatly that this does not sound calus in any way.

  10. Just wondering whether you plan to finish “After the Fall is Over” or to leave Lessa’s and F’lar’s stories incomplete?

  11. Jen,

I don’t know if “After the Fall is Over” will complete the story of Lessa and F’lar or merely expand it. The latest version of the manuscript is with Mum’s agent. Right now, everyone is still recovering from Mum’s loss.

  12. I’m sorry to read of your mom’s passing, belated as it may be. I have enjoyed all of her writings for the greater part of my life. Even now I would rather reread them than most any other book I pick up.
    I will miss her writing.

I have read and enjoyed your work as well, It’s not the same, but then you didn’t catch me at the height of my youthful imagination like your mother did.

I hope her passing will not stop you from writing. I will be looking forward to it.

  13. I have been reading the Pern series since finding the first in the series. Never tire of the stories, great way to de-stress after a tough day. I know all good things must come to an end eventually but these books will be revisited many, many times into the future.
Vale Anne – what a gift you gave us!
