  1. When your Mum gets better, I’d like for her to review my upcoming Dragon chapbook (only 32 pages, shorter is better): The Society On Da Run. I thought, since she reviewed Naomi Novik’s “Temeraire,” I thought she could say a few words about my book. It’s self published through the Lulu.com platform, and is comic book size. It’s about the space dragon empire that comes to Earth after getting sick of humans mistreating their children. There’s 11 chapbooks planned for release on 11-11-11 and an introduction book (the first book in the series) for release on 11-1-11. They’re all 20 or 32 pages per book. I included the link to the book’s blog in the URI field. I’d feel like a spammer if I posted it here. I’d like to know your response! 🙂

  2. Narcissus,

No. There’s a right way and a wrong way to go about things and what you’ve done here is the super-wrong way. You do NOT ask the son of someone who’s been on death’s door to make her review your work when she gets better. That goes way beyond bad manners.

  3. I am very sorry, I’ll be sure I won’t ever do that again, I really didn’t know how to ask.

  4. Well, usually when I don’t know how to ask, I say: I don’t know how to ask this but…

  5. I know. I rather figured that the author might be inexperienced and perhaps even on the young side.
