Wrap-up: Comic-Con 2012

Wrap-up: Comic-Con 2012

Wow!

It was less crowded this year than the last year I went.

I got my new copy of Tau Zero by Rob Reid signed!

I got to meet Claudia Christian (but I didn’t say much because I didn’t want to bother her).

I had a great signing at the Random House booth. Thanks to the great people at Random House and all the marvelous Mysterious Galaxy people!

I also had a marvelous dinner with John Del Arroz, his wife, Sam, and his “convention mom” (wow, I didn’t know you could have a convention mom!). John is an awesome guy and I expect to hear more from him soon (the usual rules apply: don’t forget me when autographing your New York Times Bestseller books!).

I was down for Preview Night and, after three hours on the concrete floor, my feet were kiling me. On Saturday, I was down for pretty much the entire day — nearly twelve hours and didn’t fell nearly as bad. The difference: I was wearing Dr. Scholl’s inserts. We’d been at a Rite-Aid and there was one of their magical measuring machines and I figured that I might as well give it a try. It certainly seemed to make a difference (still, it’s not the same as Doc Martens’).

  1. I had always thought those measuring machines were sort of bunk… I will have to check them out.

Would have loved to have gotten in and seen you this year. Comic Con is just up the road from us, but the volunteer line filled up FAST and I don’t need to tell you what it’s like trying to buy tickets!

We were able to go last year and met lots of cool people. I think my favorite person we met was Steranko (the old charmer) even though we saw/met Stan Lee and a few others.
