Writers’ Resources
Amazon.com Listmania Lists
Authors’ Tools: A list of several of the references I use to hone the craft of writing.
Screenwriters’ Tools: Screenwriters’ tools are also applicable to novel writers. I also recommend writing a script for the different perspective it brings to the craft of writing.
Producers’ Books: I have this list because, if you’re thinking of being a screenwriter, it won’t be long before you start thinking of making your own film. Start here.
3D Software: If you’re thinking of being a producer, you will find that you can do a lot with 3D software. You can also make some really great artwork (and why not?) with this software. Think BIG!
Other Resources
Articles on Writing: Interersting group of articles on writing and publishing.
Booksource and Articles: An oldie but goodie with articles and source books.
Critters: A great sci-fi, fantasy, horror and paranormal critique group. This is a community of writers and genre readers who are helping each other to improve. They also have a good reference section. Check them out.
National Novel Writing Month: If you haven’t heard about this take a look. It is a great way to challenge yourself to write. Or to explore writing in a different light. I learned a lot about myself and my creative ability, as well as the meaning of defying my own limits. (contributed by Dawn Ziegler)
Marion Zimmer Bradley Literary Works Trust: An invaluable site for aspiring writers. Not only are there links that help with writing tips in general, but there are very detailed instructions on manuscript preparation and script submission.
L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future: A truly marvelous legacy which awards, encourage, and inspires new generations of writers and illustrators. For contest rules and a look at last year’s winners, pick up the latest copy of “L. Ron Hubbard Presents Writers of the Future” (the current volume is XXII).
