Letter from Charles

Mr McCaffrey

I am french and I follow the dramatic saga created by your mother since I bought and read the “dragon flight”, 3 years ago.
Since I am fond of this saga, I would like to ask 2 or 3 questions on your future writings, hoping you will have time to answer these.

-In first place, I would like to know if “dragon’s kin” will be translated in french, and if it is, when he will be realeased in my country
– Same question for “dragon’s blood”
– Eventually, may you give me some infos about the scenario of dragon’s blood”. Is it the sequel of “The skies of Pern”?

Knowing you have little time to give to your readers, I thank you foward for answering my questions

Charles Porrot
From France

Mr. Porrot,

I am pleased to tell you that “Dragon’s Kin” will be translated into French. I have hopes that “Dragonsblood” will also be translated into French.

“Dragonsblood” is not a sequel to “The Skies of Pern.” “Dragon’s Kin” takes place toward the end of the Second Interval on Pern — less than 500 Turns after the planet was first colonised — and “Dragonsblood” takes place at the start of the Third Pass, some 14 Turns later.

In “Dragonsblood” you will find the answer to the “Ancient Rooms” found at Benden Weyr by Jaxom in “Dragonquest.”

Mum is currently here in LA with me and she’s be so energized by the booksignings and her award — the “L. Ron Hubbard Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Arts” — that she’s got an idea for a sequel to “The Skies of Pern” which she’ll write herself.

Cheers,
Todd
