Dear Zodd,

Doona “of course”!!!!

I was hoping to make Aggiecon since it’s in College Station and I’m in Conroe but alas not possible. So I guess I’ll see you and your mum next weekend! I am so excited this is better than chocolate or even my favorite beverage Godiva White Chocolate Liquour. Y’all should try that some time. I just found a copy of Dragon’s Kin at a used book store for half price so am One book away from having the three I want to bring to the signing. I’m reading Dragon’s Kin now and forgot to mention that I read Dragonholder in less than 2 hours and really got a kick out of it. Y’all are both great characters yourselves!

Tina

Dear Tina,

I’m sorry you missed Aggiecon, it was a great con and I had a lot of fun. I got to catch up with Elizabeth Moon and meet Michael Moorcock. And my daughter had such a blast that she wanted to stay in Texas then and there (“Can’t we just rent something now?”).

I look forward to meeting you at the awards!

Cheers,
Todd

Hi Todd

I just wanted to thank you for continuing the Pern series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to more of your novels – Pern or not. I confess to opening it with trepidation as Anne McCaffery has been my favourite author for many years but you have done her proud and in addition set your own mark on the story.

Congratulations.

Best wishes
Lynn

Hi Lynn,

I confess to writing Dragonsblood with trepidation! In fact, trepidation was probably the greatest single reason why it took so long to finish (the image of thousands of angry Pern fans does not make for confident writing ).

I’m glad you feel that I’ve done Mum proud.

Cheers,
Todd

Dear Todd,
Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed Dragonsblood.
I think that you have followed in your mother’s footsteps on Pern extremely well.

Mike

Dear Mike,

Thank you! Mum’s great works present a tough act to follow! It’s nice to hear that you think I’ve done a great job.

Cheers,
Todd

Hi! I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed reading Dragonsblood. I have been reading Pern books for ages, and I have read all (except Dragon’s Kin which I never knew existed until I found Dragonsblood!). This has got to be the most exciting book I have read for ages! I hope you will continue to write Pern books for us long after your mother becomes fed up with writing them!

Thank you, and thanks to Anne for creating the world we know and love as Pern.

Hi Cathy,

I’m glad that you liked Dragonsblood. Dragon’s Kin is out in paperback now, so you’ve got a treat waiting. Mum and I are working on Dragon’s Fire which fits between Dragon’s Kin and Dragonsblood.

I’ll be seeing Mum tomorrow (my birthday!) in Chicago as she’s getting the SFWA Grandmaster Nebula Award this Saturday and we’re all collecting to cheer her on. I’ll pass on your regards.

Cheers,
Todd
