Letter from Alice

Hi

I just read the letter from Paula. Holy smokes. It was ridiculous. I hope you realize that! I’ve been a fan of your mom for years. I recently had a baby and decided to reread the Pern books while I sat around and nursed me baby. The last one I had was The Skies of Pern! It took me two months but today I finished Dragonheart. It was a lot of fun to reread them all and I really enjoyed the books you have added to the saga. Can’t wait to get more!

Alice

Thanks, Alice.

I’m glad you enjoyed Dragonheart. Dragongirl is scheduled to be published in July 2010 — I hope you can wait that long!

And congratulations on the baby! They’re a lot of fun.

Cheers,
Todd

Letter from Emily

Hello Todd,

I loved Dragonheart. I got it a couple of days early as an audiobook, which provided me with days of entertainment rather than the few hours in which I normally devour new McCaffrey offerings!

I’ve just read the synopsis for Dragongirl on Amazon and I’m already salivating at the prospect. February 2010 should fall right in the middle of revision for exams however. Any chance you could expedite it to right now?!

Emily

Hi Emily,

I’m glad you liked Dragonheart. I have good news and bad news with regards to Dragongirl and your exams — the good news is that you won’t have to worry, the bad news is because the book’s publication has been delayed to July 2010.

To offset that, you might be pleased to hear that Mum so liked Dragonheart and Dragongirl that she asked to collaborate with me on the next two books in the series, and we’ve finished the first drafts of both Dragonrider and Dragon’s Time (the titles are, of course, tentative).

Cheers,
Todd

Letter from Violet

Dear Todd:

Thank you so much for continuing in your mother’s wonderful tradition. I fell in love with her and an author and now love your books as well. My daughter also loves this series of books. Please do continue I will eagerly await your next work.

P.S. I hope to see a new book one day in the Talent series as well.

Thanks Again,
Violet.

Dear Violet,

I’m glad you’re enjoying the books!

I think Mum feels she’s pretty much done with the Talent series. And while I think there is room for more books on paranormals, I would think I would write about that in an entirely new universe of my own.

Cheers,
Todd
