Letter from Kris

I am sorry you lost your father but it sounded like he was ready to go and you are totally correct: End stage cancer isn’t good at all.

I am glad your daughter did get to meet him even if just for a short while. Take care and protect yourself, your family and of course your MUM, from the various bugs flu or other wise.

Here’s hoping to see you again at AGGIE CON next year.

Kris

Hi Kris,

Thank you for the condolences.

We do our best to take care of Mum. Hopefully now with her new knee and re-bionic’d hip, she’ll be more mobile and sprightly.

Cheers,
Todd

Letter from Dirk

Dear Todd,

Thank you to you and your mother for providing me with many hours enjoyment and escape from this troubled world we live in. You make me believe I’m there in their world. I feel their pain/enjoyment. I’m sure you heard this before but for me personally I can’t thank your family enough. I read a lot of fantasy but you’re #1.

Question: Will there be a continuation from “The Skies of Pern” or will you stay in the past?

Again, bless you all
Dirk

Dear Dirk,

Thank you! That’s very flattering.

As for a follow-on from “The Skies of Pern” — Mum’s been working on something for a while now but, as she’s just gone through two very intense surgeries, I suspect that it will be a while yet before she has the energy to return to that work.

Cheers,
Todd

Please ignore my previous email. I corrected my problem locating your books but I had to deal with companies I dislike. Can you please start dealing with Baen Books like your mother does? They are so much easier to deal with where ebooks are concerned.

Thanks again,
Kirk

Oops, I already answer your previous e-mail.

As for Baen Books, several of my earlier (Todd Johnson) stories and works were carried by them.

Question from Kirk

Question from Kirk

I’ve always enjoyed the Pern series and thank you for continuing in your mother’s steps.

However, I do almost all of my reading in ebook format but have been unable to find your works (Dragonheart, etc) available in lrf, rtf, doc or other common (i.e., non-Kindle) format.

Am I looking in all the wrong places?

Thank you!
Kirk

Hi Kirk,

I would be very disappointed if any of my books were available in RTF or DOC format as they’re a completely unprotected and the works could be edited, not to mention pirated.

As for LRF, that depends upon whether my publisher and Sony can come to an agreement on distribution. One of the marvelous things about having a publisher is that a lot of minutiae of book distribution and publishing is in their hands — which allows me to concentrate on writing!

Cheers,
Todd
