Purple Unicorns

Kevin J. Anderson and Rebecca Moesta gave a great talk on writing at The Writers of the Future workshop in which they tossed out jokingly how they could never get stories for their Purple Unicorn anthology (which, of course, doesn't exist).

Challenge accepted.

The next day I emailed Kevin a copy of Rhubarb and Beets, a short story I'd written in those 24 hours dealing with — you guessed it — purple unicorns.

Real joy came when I realized that the story might possibly be a fit for an anthology I'd been asked to write for. Lo and behold, it was accepted. More details to come.
