Skies of Pern sequel

Skies of Pern sequel

My friend and I are debating this, and I was hoping you could answer this question once and for all for us. Was Skies of Pern meant to have a sequel, and if so, will you be writing it? It seemed to have a cliffhanger ending.

Mum’s been thinking about writing some more following on from the Skies of Pern.

  1. Desperate for more on Skies of Pern. I love all the Pern books – the ones you wrote Todd as well as Anne’s. I’ve even worn out a couple of them re-reading them so many times!!! Had to get new ones as replacements….. 🙂

It definitely feels to me that Skies of Pern is not quite complete yet, as if there is more to happen. I agree with Ms Gunton who wants Toric to get his come-uppance!

Anyway, thank you to both you and Anne for many, many hours of reading pleasure…. and a bookshelf full!

    Cheers!

    Anna

  2. I have the whole series of Drangonrider books, and re-read them when I need to “escape”. I also would like to see Toric get his come-uppance!

  3. Darlene,

I’m glad you like the books! As for Toric, I recall him as a nice up-and-coming guy in Dragonflight and I don’t quite know what happened. Perhaps he just needs to learn another lesson. Anyway, for the time being, that’s for Mum to decide, not me.

  4. Anna,

Glad to hear that you’ve loved the series!

We’ll have to see about Toric, that’s for another day at this point.

  5. I want the abominators to get their taste of come-uppance pie too.

Even more questions seemed to arise in “The Skies of Pern”and went unanswered like; Where did the people of Honshu go?

I don’t think my life will be complete until I find out what happens after thread (sounds extreme but I’ve been reading these books since I was 12). I have never read a book that I love as much as any of the Pern series. Thank you both Anne and Todd for creating such a magical world.

  6. Ali,

Actually there was an answer to the question of where the people of Honshu went in the short story “Rescue Run.” I believe it was first published in Analog but has been since turned into a standalone book from Wildside Press.

  7. I really really REALLY hope that a sequel is made, I love how the technology is starting to take off. I really am interested to know how they will incorporate dragons with daily life with out thread. Plus I would love to know how everything worked out with F’lessan and Thai
